Smoky Mountain Fall Foliage

Fall in the Smokies is just around the corner and we still have a few dates left open for a little getaway along with our Last Summer Special.  To learn more about our availability and the changing colors of the leaves we have provided some information we hope you find helpful.

Last Summer Special Stay 3 Nights/4th Free from August 24-27
Fall Available Dates:
October 4, 5, 6 and October 25, 26
November 1-8 and November 13, 14, 15
Winterfest Available Dates:
December 3-17

Fall is a special season in the Smoky Mountains as temperatures drop, and trees change in to their fall splendor of colors.  Each year, people always ask when the leaves will change color in the Smoky Mountains in hopes of planning a visit at just the right time to see the colors at their peak (when they are the brightest).  Understanding what makes leaves change color in the fall will give you an idea of how to know when the colors will peak. There’s a long, detailed, scientific explanation available at the USDA Forest Service website
Foliage Forecast #1: July 27, 2016 – The Smoky Mountains have had a very wet and warm summer, which means the trees are extremely green & plush with leaves. This has created an enormously full canvas for what we expect to be an incredibly vibrant, beautiful, and hopefully long-lasting fall foliage season! The biggest variable in predicting when the colors will change is the temperature. Everything will kick into gear when we have cool (but not freezing) nights starting in September as the daylight becomes shorter. Currently, the National Weather Service is predicting above-average temps for August, so hopefully that will change as September rolls in.

As of right now, our first prediction at the Gatlinburg Tenn Guide for the 2016 Fall Color Forecast for the Smoky Mountains is October 15 – November 15.  As always, the colors will begin to change in the highest elevations first and then trickle down into the valley (Pigeon Forge) over the following weeks. As temperature and weather patterns change over the next couple of months, we will update this forecast accordingly if necessary.
So we invite you to come and enjoy Fall in the Smokies at our affordable Smoky Mountain Cabin Rental accommodates 6 adults comfortably with tons of amenities and a great location, visit us at Beary Blessed Cabin  or Affordable Smoky Mountain Cabin Rental or our Facebook Page

Favorite Attraction in the Great Smoky Mountains

As owners of the Beary Blessed Cabin, we get asked a lot, what are some of our favorite places to visit when we come to the Great Smoky Mountains to vacation.  Well a little gem that our family has always loved is the Three Bears General Store located at stoplight #4 Pigeon Forge Parkway.  The store has something for everyone in the family, with over 40,000 square feet, you will find this is a one stop shop attraction.  Lets find out more about what you will enjoy when visiting the Three Bears General Store.

Simply Southern Shirts
Homemade Fudge and Candy
Specialty Foods
Home and Cabin Decor
Doll Corner
Make-Ur-Bear Factory
NCAA, NFL and Nascar
Christmas Decor
Live bears to see
Family Arcade center
Ol' Tyme Photo Studio
and so much more...

This is one of those shops you can spend a few hours in and sample the goodies and pick up a few souvenirs and have some fun and not have to go from store to store to find what your looking for!
This leaves more time to explore the many other attractions in the Smokies, such as the Comedy Barn, Dollywood, Dixie Stampede, Wonderworks, Titantic, Ripley's Aquarium and so much more.

The Three Bears General Store offers Coupons for fudge, soft serve ice cream, wedding gifts, Make-Ur-Bear and the mining ore located next door.  There is even a coupon to see the live bears, the kids will love this. Click on Coupons to go to the link for these.

Gatlinburg Cabin Sweet Deals and Sweet Treats

Looking for a Gatlinburg Cabin with sweet deals for that last minute getaway to the Great Smoky Mountains.  We have two in July, a WEEKEND GETAWAY on July 22 and 23, a 2 nights stay for $280(this includes nightly rate, cleaning and taxes).  Normally we require 5 night stays from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but our other deal, is any 2 night stay between July 29 and August 3rd at the regular nightly rate.  This makes this 2 night stay only $295, so why not take advantage of these offers while they last! No five night stay required as normal with these 2 Sweet Deals! To learn more about this affordable Smoky Mountain Cabin rental visit our Site and view our calendar for all available dates. Cabin offers our guest 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, sleeper sofa, accommodates 6 adults, pool table, 60 arcade game in one, jacuzzi, hot tub, fireplace during winter months, 3 porches, washer & dryer, ample parking and a great location between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, close to all attractions.

And for those of your with a sweet tooth, I have created a list here of some of the many candy shops in the Gatlinburg area.  These shops will make your mouth water and make the decision making process in your life a lot more difficult.  Items such as gourmet candy apples, to taffy you can watch being made, to pecan clusters and even some sugar free candies for those who may be restricted.  A trip to the Gatlinburg strip without stopping in a candy shop, shame on you, its half the fun and it brings out the kid in all of us.  So be sure to stop in one of these many shops for a sweet treat the next time your in the Gatlinburg area.

My personal favorite does not have a website, but it is one of the most famous in Gatlinburg, Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen, located at 744 Parkway.  It is right in the middle of Gatlinburg, it is the one our families have shopped at for years.
