Snowtubing & Snowskiing in Smokies

Skiing in the Smokies

Ober Gatlinburg is your best choice for skiing in the Southeast! Why? With nine trails serviced by two quads, one double and one surface lift, you are sure to spend more time on the slopes than in line for the lifts.

We offer terrain for all abilities, from a beginner experiencing the joy of snow sports for the first time, to a seasoned expert hitting the moguls and terrain park. With our state-of-the-art snowmaking system as soon as temperatures drop the snow guns go on. Ober Gatlinburg offers 100% snowmaking on all of our slopes.

A state-of-the art Snow Tubing Park opened in January 2009 and a Freestyle Terrain Park was added for the 2009-2010 season. Ober Gatlinburg strives to enrich our guests’ experience at the resort. In 2009/10 we added a freestyle terrain park, and for the 2010/11 season we are going even bigger! We are doubling the number of rails and boxes, as well as varying snow features such as table tops and spines available during the season. Our park crew is dedicated to keeping the features freshly groomed throughout the day and making the best set-ups possible. Be sure to keep an eye on and!/oberfreestyle?ref=ts for park updates and events!

Don’t have your own equipment? Ober Gatlinburg has a rental fleet of 1,800 pairs of shaped skis and 300 snowboards, and our trained staff will get you set up and ready to hit the slopes. Renting at Ober doesn’t just mean skis and snowboards, our rental shop also offers ski pants, jackets, and helmets.
