Books about the Great Smoky Mountains

One of my favorite places to go and find information about the Great Smoky Mountains is the Bookstore of the Great Smoky Mountain Association.  All proceeds go the park, so this helps in maintaining the park for the thousands that come to visit this natural wonder every year.

Whether your looking for something for the Family To Do , a Family Fun Kit or Cades Cove Childhood, there is a book for everyone in their large collection.  You can also purchase gifts of jewelry and food goodies as well.  This is a gem of a treat for anyone who loves the Smokies and would like to learn more whether they want information on what to anticipate for their first trip or one's yearly trip.  I hope you enjoy their site as much as do, so head on over to the Bookstore and find something that interest you.

The Cades Cove Childhood book is sure to be one that will delight those of us who love Cades Cove and are drawn to its simpleness.  Watch the video to learn more about the book.

Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage in the Great Smoky Mountains

Its that time of year again when the Great Smoky Mountain National Park will come alive with a burst of vibrant color on the ground floor.  Over 1500 different kinds of flowering plants will take bloom and give the visitors a spectacular show of color and variety.  In fact, the park is sometimes referred to as the “Wildflower National Park.” The Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage is an annual five-day event in Great Smoky Mountains National Park consisting of a variety of wildflower, fauna, and natural history walks, motorcades, photographic tours, art classes, and indoor seminars.  The Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage in the Smokies this year is April 15-19, 2014!

On-site registration will begin Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 5:00 PM in the Mills Conference Center, Gatlinburg TN. View the on-site registration schedule or register now online . To keep up with the latest updates from the 63rd Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage, like us on Facebook.

Each spring, the park hosts the Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage, a week-long festival of programs and guided walks and hikes that explore the wondrous diversity of life in the park.
