Ghost Town in the Sky, A Smoky Mountain Attraction

Ghost Town in the Sky, located in Maggie Valley, NC was always a favorite of mine as a child.  I knew as my family made its way to the Great Smoky Mountains on our family vacation, this would be one of our go to attractions.  I can still remember the anticipation of the the next move, the squeal with each gunshot and the silliness of Festus the undertaker, as I watched the gun shows.  If your children have never experienced the thrill of a showdown, a Western gunfight in the street, then this is a must, a memory they will always remember of their vacation.  We cannot forget the saloons, two of them with music and can-can girls, a schoolhouse, jail and so much more in Western Town.

Ghost Town in the Sky also has a Level Fun Park, with ziplines, three levels(even one for children 4 years and up), chairlift ride, and many kiddie rides for the little ones.  In 2014 the arrival of the Resurrection phase is to be completed.  Resurrection Mountain, projected to open in 2014 will be built on the highest-elevated portion of the mountain and will be a replica of Jerusalem’s Holy Land.  So as you can see Ghost Town is coming back to life and offers something for all ages, be sure to Visit Their Website

Make it a day, start out on your adventure as you leave Gatlinburg, by taking in the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park through the parkway, then off to Cherokee for a a visit with the Indians and their way of life, then onto Maggie Valley for a live Western town complete with all the trimmings of an old-fashion gunfight and can-can girls.  Be sure to get an early start as you leave the Beary Blessed Cabin, as this will be a busy, fun filled day, crammed packed with tons of memories for your family.
